Prince honored as Web ‘visionary’ June 2, 2006

Tiffany Shlain, founder of the awards described Prince as a “musical genius” and a visionary who was able to recognize early on that the web would completely change the way we experience music.
The pop superstar was one of the first major artist to release an entire album exclusively on the Web when other artists were shunning it because of piracy concerns. This was long before MySpace and Itunes. Prince used the web as a way to distrubute his music and connect with his fans.

You can work up an appetite seeing Danica in magazine ads, book covers and more. Her bronze skin and wind-blown hair can captivate anyone.
She is definitly helping to bring in new fans to the Indianapolis 500 along with selling tons of her merchandise from Key chains, shirts and photos.
How long before Playboy offers her a deal?

Hilary Swank filing divorce from Chad Lowe May 26, 2006
Posted by Gossip Chick in : Celebrity Gossip , comments closed“Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have jointly decided to divorce ” an attorney for the couple, Jeffrey Bernstein said about a story that is posted on its Web Site. They have been married eight years.
Bernstein confirmed to the AP that the couple would divorce but also declined to elaborate on the reason for the split. The couple has no children.

Cate Blanchett to portray Bob Dylan

The 37-yr old Australian actress is one of seven actors to play Dylan at various stages of his career in “I’m not there”.
Heath Ledger and his girlfriend and “Brokeback Mountain” co-star Michelle Williams have also joined the cast. The movie will be directed by Todd Haynes. Blanchett will next to be seen in the upcoming drama “Babel”.

Oldest “Idol” winner Taylor Hicks

Personally I think the sultry Katharine McPhee should have won but most votes were cast for Taylor Hicks who is the oldest American Idol Winner so far. The question is whether Hicks can translate this into success. He certainly faces a difficult challenge ahead if he wants to establish himself as a hitmaker like former winner Kelly Clarkson. For many past Idol winners, the transition is not easy says Even Davis - the record mogul who has guided previous idol winners. His age, jerky dancing, outfits and his mature voice can all stand as barriers to gaining a popular audience. Only time will tell. Source: Yahoo
Michael Jackson plans appearance in Tokyo

He is planning to make his first public appearance since his trial at a ceremony in tokyo. His spokesmen said this was to accept an award from MTV Japan.
His visit will kick off an Asian tour that will include visits to Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Note to all parents in Asian countries, time to keep your kids indoors as Michael is headed your way!

RYAN SEACREST FALLS THROUGH GLASS TABLE
Posted by Gossip Chick in : Celebrity Gossip , comments closedAmerican Idol host Ryan Seacrest narrowly escaped serious injury after falling through a glass table during an idol production meeting. “I decide I’m 155 pounds, I can sit on that thing” Seacrest said of the glass table. Ok, first of all no matter how much you weigh, who in their right mind would put any weight on a glass table??
Ryan said he felt like the biggest idiot after falling and suffering a gash on his hand. Am I the only one who secretly wished he got a glass shard stuck up his butt?
